CHRIS THOMASOfficial Rally WebsiteNicos Thomas JR

He always wanted to take part in a rally since for the last 10 years he was always at the side of his fathers career. Finally his ambition became a reality. At the age of 19 his father finally gave him the opportunity to participate in a small rally to test him out.

His first Rally was at the beginning of 2006 with his God Father Costas Georgiou “Chips” next to him as co-driver, the former co-driver of Chris Thomas. With a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 3 started the rally as mixed crew and went well for the first couple of stages. Then a suspension problem kept them down and although they finished the rally they could not get any distinctive position. Good result for a newly driver.

New blood in the Cyprus rally world with good prospects is Nicos Thomas (JR), the son of Chris Thomas.

After this great success and the ensuring of his co-driver of being a safe driver his father Chris decided to help him in the future. Chris Thomas announced that he will help Nicos to participate in full in the Cyprus Rally Championship of 2007. His co-driver will be Costas Georgiou “Chips” that will be a very good help for him.

The rally car which Nicos will drive will be the New Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9 which is on the process to finish in 3-4 weeks.

Nicos also had the opportunity to check a rally event

from the position of a co-driver participating in the

Pikkis Tarmac Rally in summer 2006, organized by

the Limassol Auto Club, next to his father.

They participated with a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8 and

took the first position in the rally.

We wish Nicos a prosperous future in  the

Cyprus Rally World.

Second event as a novice driver was the Larnaca Mini Rally 2006 in May, that gave Nicos the opportunity to show his skills and to put his father in deep thoughts. They started the rally winning the first stage giving everybody a very big surprise from the start. Nicos managed to keep the first position up to the end of the rally, obtaining a very precious and important win, the first in his career. His co-driver was again Costas Georgiou “Chips” that gave Nicos a good advantage of his expert skills as a co-driver.
